the wife and i, and our jack russel Oscar, packed up the truck, and headed east. first stop, bodie. a ghost town in arrested decay...was quite an attraction...unbelievably crowded...but very cool subject to capture.

welcome
i must confess, this is completely out of character for me. you wont find me on facebook, i don't tweet, i have no space on myspace, i have a website that i own and have updated once diegocremonaphotography.com. So why a blog? why now after years and years of turning my back to the masses, snubbing my nose at the craze of social networking and self proclamation...why now? Not sure...but for now...consider this my first act. My toes are testing the waters...kinda cold...
so what will i intend to do with this blog? what's in the name "speaking of light"?
i am for lack of a better term - an amateur photographer...actually i do get paid sometimes, but until i can understand why i get paid...i will remain an "amateur"...less responsibility:-) so with this blog i intend to present my work and those works of others that i find inspirational, controversial, progressive, and simply "pleasing to my eyes". i simply intend to bring discussion about my travels, my family, food, wine, events, etc...through photography. through light. that is after all what photography is right? the capturing of light? capturing light for a brief moment in time, as if freeze it forever in time...the great Jean Luc Godard quoted once that "Film is truth 24 times a second"...well, photography is like that but sometimes its as fast 1/8000 of a second...
